Fun fact: Karlien and I crossed paths one evening in Lisbon at a dinner party; she was visiting from Cape Town, and I was visiting from New York City. Our connection was instant, sparked by our shared professions as therapists in private practice and our mutual love for Cape Town. Over the course of four years, despite the geographical distance, we've stayed in touch, making it a tradition to catch up and talk shop whenever I'm in her city.
